Chikmagalur (also known as Chikkamagaluru) is a town in Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Located in the foothills of Mullayanagiri range, Chikmagalur is famous for coffee and is known as the 'coffee land' of Karnataka. National Highway 173 (India) passes through the city.

My 2 days/1night trip to Chikmangalur - >

Starting place - Hope farm signal , Bangalore
I traveled by my own car, I have started around 4:45AM from whitefield .. and reached their at 9:45 AM.
Since we have already booked the room in SK regency , but when we reached there, room was not ready. So we went for breakfast on IG Road. Infront of bus stand, there is Annapurana restaurant. We liked the taste of Dosa .. it was authentic dosa. We finished our breakfast in 30 min and went to Hotel to refresh.
At 12:30 PM .. We were ready to explore Chikmangalur. We were having below tourist map (got from hotel itself ). Below was my trip planning.
Tourist Map for ChikMangalur -
1st Place -
Straight from IG road, you need to take left turn at slightly T junction. After some distance , you will see a road going on left side. Its same left turn for mullaygiri and babu budangiri .. and you need to pay 10 Rs at the entry ..
We missed the left turn and went ahead ..after driving 6 KM ,,we realized that we are on wrong road , we asked and then took U turn.
At the entry, we paid 10 Rs. After driving some distance .. around 6 km , there is one left turn which goes to MullayanGiri. Don't take that turn ... go straight , you will be at Babu BudanGiri. Below is some pic.

From Babu Budan Giri , there are 2 spot .. We went to Manikya dhara spot ,... its a good foggy one.
After Manikya dhara , we come back on Babu Budan Giri spot and clicked few pics.

We came back from their around 6 PM, had dinner at Hotel Mayura , good north indian food but its available from 7PM onwards.
after that we were back in hotel, after driving car around 350KM , i was very tired and slept at 9PM.
2nd Day :-
We woke up early and booked cab , normal full day cab will take 1800/- , but we asked only for MullayanGiri and he agreed to 1100/- ..
It is advisable that for MullayanGiri, book a cab as roads are very narrow and its very danger .. so be a safe side , book cab if you are going 1st time.

We return from their around 12 Oclock then we decide to go to Hirekolale lake , below pic we capture on the way to HireKolale lake.
This lake is not common lake and not many vehicle you will find on the way , we missed the spot and went ahead , their is a ghat area , this lake is before that ghat area. After travelling some distance, we asked and realized that we left spot behind us .. then we took U turn. But we couldn;t find the lake. This lake is little bit inside from main road , if you are planning to go there , better be careful not to missed the spot.
Then we decided to go to Ayyankere Lake . this lake is around 25 km from main city.
Lake is beautiful , below are few pics on that lake.
Then we left Chikmangalur around 5:15PM and reached Home around 10 PM.
